Life Info

1. Free Infant Education and Childcare to Begin in October
From October 1st, infant education and childcare for 3 to 5-year-old preschoolers attending kindergartens, nursery schools, or certified centers for early childhood education and care will be made free.
This will also apply to 0 to 2-year-olds (excluding children attending kindergartens) of resident tax exempt families.
Parents will continue to bear fees for transportation, lunch/snack, and events as before.
In addition, usage fees for development support (such as institutional daycare support) for 3 to 5-year-old disabled children will also be made free.
Advance application may be required.

1. Souji/Song Ceramics ~ Utensils of Sublime Beauty

Ceramics produced during the Song dynasty in China are called Song ceramics, and are considered to have reached the peak of beauty in Chinese ceramic history.
This exhibition shows the world of Song ceramics including tea utensils.

1. Kitakyushu Karaage (Fried Chiken) Championship

14 Karaage specialty shops in Kitakyushu city and the vicinity will gather to compete for the top position. The champion will be decided by popular vote.

2. Kitakyushu Yakitori (Grilled Chiken) Festival 2019

The first ever Yakitori event held in Kitakyushu city. Liven up the city by enjoying great tasting Yakitori in the city which has developed by the steel manufacturing industry.

■Date/Time: September 21st (Sat)~22nd (Sun) 12:00~18:00
※Will be postponed to September 22nd and 23rd if the September 21st event is cancelled due to rain.

3. Mt. Sarakura Saturday Night Live

Live performances of different genres of music including pops, jazz, and classical music on top of Mt. Sarakura, from which you can also enjoy the beautiful lights of Kitakyushu city.
“Sarakura Moon Viewing” is also scheduled to be held on September 14th (Sat).

■Date/Time: Every Saturday in September and October 19:00~20:00 ※Will be held even in the event of rain.
