Volunteer Administrative Interpreters
An interpretation service made available to foreign residents of the city that face difficulties communicating in Japanese at government offices, public schools, or during home visitations.
Application Requirements
◆We are currently recruiting volunteer interpreters for Vietnamese, Nepali, Tagalog, and Thai.
- Aged 18 years and above and living in Kitakyushu City or one of the surrounding municipalities
- Language ability
Those with a foreign language as a mother tongue
English/Chinese/Korean: Japanese ability equivalent to the JLPT N1 level
Other languages: Japanese ability equivalent to the JLPT N3 level
Those with Japanese as a mother tongue
Native level ability of the foreign language

Volunteering hours
As a general rule, each volunteer interpretation session is capped at 3 hours.
Reimbursement of expenses
￥2500 paid to cover transportation expenses
Application Method
Applicants will be registered as a volunteer administrative interpreter only after being interviewed by the staff in charge.
