This year, Kyushu has seen a heavy amount of snowfall with freezing days and nights continuing throughout the winter. With the drop in temperature influenza has been on the rise in the city, with the City of Kitakyushu issuing a flu warning.

Make sure to wash your hands and gargle warm water to stay healthy and avoid a trip to the doctors this season. Let’s enjoy the rest of the winter in good health. We have lots of fun events in February, including the Kitakyushu marathon, setsubun mamemaki, end-of -winter bean-throwing festival, and of course Valentine’s Day! I hope you all have a wonderful time this month!
