Looking for Foreign Language Table Speakers
At the Kitakyushu International Association we are looking for the following volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering, or wish to learn more about our volunteering activities, please contact us here
We are looking for foreign volunteers who would be interested in introducing different aspects of their culture - cuisine, dance, music and so on - at places such as schools and citizens centers, in order to promote understanding of foreign cultures in Japan.
We are also looking for Japanese instructors who wish to talk about their own international experiences, such as working as a Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteer, participating in NGO activities, or living abroad.
* This program is carried out in cooperation with the Fukuoka International Exchange Center.
We are also looking for people who would like to volunteer as administrative interpreters and offer support to foreign residents who don't understand Japanese, and to people working at city institutions who are having difficulty communicating with foreign customers. For more information, please click here
We also have interpreters helping at our free monthly consultation meetings, where people can consult with a lawyer, clinical psychologist or administrative specialist. If you are fluent in a foreign language then please register as a volunteer interpreter.
Are you interested in helping us to make "Himawari", the lifestyle magazine for foreign residents that we publish four times (spring, summer, autumn, winter) each year?
Currently we are especially looking for foreign residents, who can help us with the translations of the articles. The magazine is published in English, Chinese and Korean.
Requirements:
- You should be able to translate between Japanese and one of the languages mentioned above
- We normally communicate by E-mail, so you should have internet access
If you are interested or if there are specific articles you want to write or read about, please feel free to contact Ben at the KIA on cir-ben@kitaq-koryu.jp anytime. We would be glad to hear your suggestions.
We are currently looking for foreign speakers interested in introducing their culture, traditions and simple conversation in their native tongue, by holding 'foreign language tables' at Yahata. The classes will be an hour long. The dates and times for the class can be negotiated. For more information about the language tables, please click here
