It is once again that time of year where Japan faces an onslaught of typhoons. Typhoons are responsible for flooding, landslides, heavy rains and fires. Loss of life and property can be caused by any of the above.
Disaster prevention is not about “If”, it is about “When”. Disaster can strike at any moment therefore, it is important to have the necessary preparations in place for when it occurs.

Editorial
July 7th is the Tanabata Festival ☆
Tanabata is held to celebrate the meeting of the deities Hikoboshi and Orihime. The deities are represented by the stars Altair and Vega.
In Japan, it is thought that if it rains, the stars are hidden and will not be able to meet each other. Therefore people pray for clear skies, thereby allowing them both to meet.
In neighboring Korea however, it is believed that the rain is actually tears of joy shed by both stars after their long awaited wait.
The important lesson here is that, regardless of whether it rains, at the end of the day, the two stars get to meet after a long wait.

So for this year’s Tanabata, how about you write down your wish, and look up to the night sky together with your loved ones.
