Japanese Home Cooking Class

Introducing some seasonal Japanese dishes to foreign residents

 

On January 27th we held a cooking class here at the International Center, introducing traditional Japanese home cooking to a variety of foreign residents living in the area.

With the help and expertise of some of our local volunteers, the participants had a go at making "chirashi-zushi", "yellowtail teriyaki", "sumashijiru soup", and "rice flour dumplings".

Once these were made we all sat down and enjoyed them along with some "Gameni", a local culinary speciality of Yahata.
